The Cottonwood Bears defeated Luverne 26-8 in the first round of the playoffs last Friday at home.

The Bears enter the game with a 9-1 record.... They were 4-1 on their home turf and 5-0 on the road.

The Bears' offense is averaging 39.3 points a game....



They qualified for the playoffs by finishing 1st in Class 2A Region 2. The Bears were 7-0 in region play.

The Bears have made 27 playoff appearances with an overall record of 45-25.... They are 13-2 on the road in the second round. 		The Isabella Mustangs defeated St. Lukes 44-17 in the first round of the playoffs last Thursday on the road.

The Mustangs enter the game with a 9-2 record.... They were 4-1 on their home turf and 5-1 on the road.

The Mustangs' offense is averaging 41.6 points a game.

Isabella is on a game winning streak since losing to B.B. Comer in week of the season by a score of 47-13 at home. Since that loss the Mustangs have outscored their opponents by an average of 41.0-21.6.

They qualified for the playoffs by finishing 3rd in Class 2A Region 4. The Mustangs were 5-2 in region play.

The Mustangs have made 23 playoff appearances with an overall record of 15-22.... They are 2-5 at home in the second round.

The Cottonwood Bears have qualified for the playoffs a total of 27 times since 1966. They won the only playoff state championship in the history of the school in 1986.

This is their first playoff appearance since the 2022 season.

The Bears will travel to Isabella this week for a Second Round game at Bill Nabors Stadium. They are 13-2 in previous years in the Second Round on the road. 		The Isabella Mustangs have qualified for the playoffs a total of 23 times since 1966. The Mustangs have never won a playoff state championship.
